NURSE WITH WOUND/ANDREW LILES/DIMETH TRIP/SKELDOS Live in Lithuania on 10 Nov 2012

.

Anykščiai Culture House (A. Baranausko sq. 2) will host ‘The Machine Started To Flow Into A Vein (Vol. 3)‘ on November 10, 2012 at 17.30, presenting a legendary project of surrealistic electronic music – Nurse With Wound. The main artist of the band, Steven Stapleton, who has been actively performing since 1979 is highly influential in the experimental music scene. He has also collaborated with other artists and performed in Europe’s and USA’s largest festivals of alternative music.
Nurse With Wound was started in London in 1978. At that time, the band’s lineup was as follows: Steven Stapleton, John Fothergill and Heman Pathak. Since 1981 only one member, Steven Stapleton remained. Nurse With Wound was deeply influenced by the krautrock movement. However, one can find prominent free-style improvisation and elements such as avant-garde, industrial, noise, dark ambient and drone in the music. The music of Nurse With Wound has been widely featured by various renowned artists. Through his long-lasting career, Steven Stapleton has collaborated with bands such as Current 93, Coil, The Hafler Trio, Stereolab, Organum and others. A kernel of the band performing for the first time in Lithuania will consist of ideological leader S. Stapleton, Collin Potter and Andrew Liles.
Andrew Liles from the UK and two projects from Lithuania: Skeldos and Dimeth Trip, will also take part in the festival. Both Lithuanian projects Skeldos and the Dimeth Trip will be represented by Vytenis Eitminavičius.
This international event ‘The Machine Started To Flow Into A Vein (Vol. 3)‘ is delivered by Moontrix, an experimental audiovisual organisation, in collaboration with Anykščiai Culture Centre and Anykščiai City Municipality. This is the third installment, with the earlier two that took place in Vilnius in 2006 and 2011.

Doors will be open at 17.30 and show starts at 18.30. Ticket costs 50 LTL until October 1, 2012, thereafter it will be 60 LTL.
